From the 27th to the 28th of June 2016 ECOTILES attended to the very interesting LIFE platform meeting on Circular Economy held in Milan. During the first day of the meeting, in conjunction with the introduction of several new LIFE projects, a dense exchange of experiences occurred among about fifty European researchers.
LIFE ECOTILES attended the workshops about replicability and economic issues of LIFE projects and generation of secondary raw materials.
Each attendee was asked to respond some questions about the following aspects:
– the existing situation (state-of-play) of their LIFE research project;
– the success factors to replicate and transfer technology or methodology during or after the project end;
– how should researchers minimize the discrepancy between material input, waste generation and recycling flows. What is needed to create a market for secondary raw materials.

During the second day, the meeting attendees were transferred to Vidalengo (Caravaggio, Bergamo) for a tour of the Saint Gobain glass wool factory , partner of project LIFE Isover for recycling and ecosustainability.
