One of the goals of the LIFE ECO TILES project is to increase the awareness on environment and waste disposal issues in the scientific community. For this reason the LIFE ECO TILES team saw a great opportunity in the congress “Geosciences: a tool in a changing world” held in Pisa (Italy) from the 3rd to the 7th of September. The congress is hosted by the four most important Italian Geosciences Societies every two years in order to look at the state of the art of the research in the whole landscape of the Italian Universities and Italian Research Centres. University of Camerino as partner of the ECO TILES project contributed to the conference with an illustrative panel titled “Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) for eco-innovative building products” in the section dedicated to “Geomaterials and their likes: from Nature to technology and manufacturing”, the panel focused on the analysis of waste glass and matrix interaction after 6 months of tile manufacturing, additionally the results for LCA were reported. Several researcher come to the panel attracted by the graphic of the panel to ask about the analysis results, the feasibility of green building product and curiosities on the LIFE Programme itself. As a matter of fact, this conference was not only very helpful for the dissemination of the LIFE ECO TILES progresses but also made possible to acknowledge the spirit of the LIFE Programme to a broader audience of researchers.
